Chainsaw, Single Product Review

Does Powerworks compare to the big brands out there selling top-quality chainsaws?

It’s a question many are still looking for an answer to.

This chainsaw has been the talk of the town so I thought let’s review it and see what the hype is all about.

Let’s find out the yays and nays of this machine in this detailed PowerWorks 60V chainsaw review today.

What Makes Powerworks 60v Chainsaw A Standout?

Let’s dive into the many things that make the Powerworks 60v chainsaw stand out amongst many big names.

The affordable price point is one of the reasons this chainsaw has been all the rage.

However, I am certain you’re here because Powerworks battery chainsaw is far better than those fume-hissing, high-maintenance tools.

The chainsaw is easy to handle, and lightweight, therefore, offering a smoother cutting experience.

It is better to go for a lightweight battery chainsaw to fulfill your cutting needs if you’re a homeowner and don’t require that much power for heavy-duty work. It’ll be easy on your pocket too!

Our Powerworks 60v Chainsaw Review in 2024: Unboxing, First Impressions, Testing

I ordered the tool online and let me summarize the whole experience for you here.

The Powerworks 60v Chainsaw Unboxing

The package came on time and it was properly packed within the box, covered in bubble wrap. The package included the chainsaw and a 2.5 Ah battery that you can also use with other Powerworks machines if you own any. That was because I purchased the kit, which is a better option for new users.

The bar and chain come already assembled so you don’t have to go through the hassle of joining them together. It’s pretty easy to figure out.

There is a Powerworks chainsaw user manual inside the box with clear instructions and safety warnings. You should go through the whole manual before using it.

First Impressions

It was quite easy on the hand and the weight was surprisingly light for a chainsaw that produces this much power. I liked that it is cordless and so easy to carry around and find the best barks to cut. PowerWorks 60V battery chainsaw

The 16″ bar is quite tough and rugged, it’s really good for small business owners and homeowners.

The cushioned over-mold grip makes the whole handling comfortable and smooth. I honestly think this is the ideal cordless chainsaw for occasional use.

Testing and Experimenting

I took this little beast out for some experimenting and testing after fitting in the battery pack. I needed some firewood so I thought it’d be a great time to test this equipment.

There were some smaller, thinner trees in the area and I had already felled some trees before and some limbing and bucking was needed.

The Powerworks 60v chainsaw cut them quite well– accurately into logs and it did it pretty quickly. Not only is this tool powerful, but it is also efficient and easy to handle.

Technical Features of Powerworks 60v Chainsaw You Should Know:

Here are some of the Powerworks 60v chainsaw’s specs:

Efficient Battery Usage

The Powerworks 60v Chainsaw comes with a 2.5 Ah lithium-ion battery pack that is also usable with other Powerworks yard tools, like a hedge trimmer.

This chainsaw uses the battery very efficiently as my testing concluded. Frankly, I was a bit astonished by the performance, but to be fair, I did cut a 12-inch diameter log.

The level of strain you’re putting on the saw may make a difference in the battery performance but all in all, this chainsaw would only drain one bar for an hour of continuous usage.

Lightning Fast Charging

The downtime you face when your battery is charging is frustrating but that problem is also solved with the Powerworks 60v chainsaw.

It comes with an extremely efficient charger, and it only takes barely 45-60 minutes to charge the battery and then you’re good to go for at least 4-6 hours, depending on how hard you’re pushing the tool.

Brushless Electric Motor

The electric motor is pretty strong and provides more torque and better useful life to the chainsaw. This machine is more than capable of chopping down trees over 2 ft. thick!

The top-notch brushless electric motor is the best part of this whole machine. It not only produces more power output in the shape of RPM and torque but also prevents the chainsaw from overheating due to friction.

All in all, it is far more efficient because it maneuvers the power loss from friction to give it more rotational strength. Powerworks 60v chainsaw for cutting small trees works like a charm and it is also great for some occasional heavy-duty work.

Bar and Chain Mechanics

The Powerworks 60v chainsaw for yard work is highly reliable, given the fact that it features an inertial chain brake for more safety. You hardly find this feature in cheap chainsaws, but I was quite impressed by its inclusion in this budget chainsaw.

Similarly, for a better user experience, this chainsaw features a low-kickback bar and chain combination to avoid sudden kickback which can be dangerous for new users.

Oregon saw features metal bucking teeth, meaning it can slice through some pretty thick pieces of wood, which again is a rare sight in low-priced chainsaws.

The transparent bar oil tank also makes it pretty easy for you to check the bar oil levels because that’s the only maintenance you’d have to do apart from the chain tensioning.

Expert Opinions:

Arthur describes his experience with the Powerworks 60v Chainsaw as follows; “I was impressed when this chainsaw cut seamlessly through a 1 ft. thick tree. Felling trees has never been faster for me before, and with this lightweight tool, I don’t need to put in extra strength to slice through the wood. I would highly recommend this to homeowners especially.”

Pete describes his experience with the Powerworks 60v Chainsaw as follows; “This chainsaw is surprisingly good. I was not expecting such a great performance and build at such a small price tag. Why Purchase PowerWorks 60v Chainsaw?

Apart from the excellent performance of this Powerworks battery chainsaw, the ease of use plays a vital part in my decision in favor of it.

The cordless design and the lightweight combine to give us a great product and even though Powerworks is not a competitor of Stihl or Husqvarna yet, it is not very far from being it.

This chainsaw is not too heavy on your budget and fulfills all your cutting needs and hence, is a must-have tool for your everyday yard work.

With all the expensive and not-so-competent options, this one is by far the best chainsaw to get in 2024.
